OUR HISTORY
Rail travelers arrived in East Stroudsburg at the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western

Train service peaked in 1900 with the arrival of the legendary Phoebe Snow, “…the finest passenger transportation vehicle in the world”, according to service advertising. It’s comfortable sleeping cars and lavish dining and lounge cars were well publicized. Delaware, Lackawanna and Western advertising even pictured a woman dressed in white to show how clean anthracite coal burned in the locomotives.
